Been using it for around a year now alongside Xero, probably the best document software I've used, its very easy to use and you always have a document record of the purchase invoices

In the past, I used to collect my expense receipts by the end of the VAT period and then manually put the information in a spreadsheet which then calculated the sums for my VAT return. This often took me hours to do, of course leaving it sometimes to the last minute, literally midnight. Thanks to Dext and Xero, now my VAT calculation with the supporting documents is up to date every day as I simply take a photo of my receipt with the Dext app on my phone as soon as I get it, then allocate it in the correct category on my Dext phone app, confirm it on Dext app on my PC the next day, and the Dext / Xero intergration does the rest. It could not be more simple and convenient.

I personally find DEXT to be particularly useful for capturing copies of receipts on my mobile phone which are then sent electronically direct to my Xero account. The method simply involves opening the DEXT app on the phone which has access to the phone’s camera Any paper receipt is then photographed and then published to Xero. Alternatively pdf documents can be downloaded onto phone or PC and sent via DEXT to Xero. Also receipts in emails can be sent direct by email to DEXT. The system operates securely and well. Its use has transformed my way of working - particularly by getting rid of any need to retain paper receipts. I am able to be always “on top” of my accounting responsibilities.

Keep it simple is my motto and Dext certainly does that. Dext keeps all your sundry cash receipts in one accessible place and works perfectly with Xero for my accountants. Recording receipts as you go along so nothing goes missing. Easy peasy.
