Pricey and slow

I started using it a few years ago to allow my customers to pay online, but I stopped using it because the money was taking 5 days to get to me with a hefty fee deducted... Now it only takes 3 days, but still very expensive. I will disconnect their services after this review.

Response from Stripe

Hi Zsolt- Thanks for sharing your experience, and sorry for the frustrations. Payout timing can vary depending on factors like your account’s payout schedule, banking partners, and payment method, but we understand how important it is to access your funds quickly. If you’re open to it, our team would be happy to take a closer look at your account to see if there are options that might better fit your setup. You can reach us anytime through support.stripe.com.

very expensive

Slow payment and very expensive fees , we added stripe to allow for card payments to be taken onsite , but compared to take payments or go cardless this wasnt worth carrying on with .

Response from Stripe

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We understand that payment speed and fees are important when choosing a provider, especially for in-person payments. Stripe’s pricing and payout timing can vary depending on the payment method, location, and account setup, but we know those factors need to work for your business. We’re always working to improve both the experience and flexibility available to users. Appreciate the feedback and here if you need us to look into anything at support.stripe.com.

Works but lacks customer service

The payment service is reliable, yes they take fees as well as hold your money, but these are not my complaints. Fees have VAT on them. I want an VAT invoice for my fees, issued at the same time I receive the payout from them. I would also prefer one fee invoice per transaction (We are high value, low volume customers). Customer support wasted lots of my time suggesting work-arounds, that don't work rather than the options I need. They have found a good position working with Xero, but I'm seeking better aligned alternatives.

Response from Stripe

Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We’re glad to hear the service itself has been reliable, but we understand how important clear VAT documentation and invoicing is, especially when it comes to reconciliation and accounting workflows.Stripe currently provides fee reporting and documentation through the Dashboard and exports that many users connect with tools like Xero for reconciliation. That said, we recognize this setup may not meet every accounting preference, particularly for businesses that would prefer invoices issued per transaction or alongside payouts. If you need additional support we are available at support.stripe.com.
