Getting started
Getting started with brioHR and Xero is straightforward. The integration is designed to be simple to set up so businesses can quickly connect their HR and accounting systems. The easiest way to begin is by selecting the “Get this app” button on the Xero App Store listing. This starts the installation process and allows you to authorize the connection between brioHR and your Xero organization. Once connected, you can configure how payroll data flows from BrioHR into your accounting records.
Setup process
- Install the integration. Click the “Get this app” button on the Xero App Store listing to begin installation.
- Authorize access. Grant permission for brioHR to connect with your Xero organization so payroll data can be synchronized securely.
- Configure payroll account mapping. Select which Xero accounts should receive payroll expenses, deductions, and liabilities generated in brioHR.
- Run payroll in brioHR. Process payroll normally within brioHR using its payroll engine and employee management tools.
- Sync payroll data to Xero. After payroll is finalized, transfer payroll entries with Xero so they appear in your manual journal entries
Tips for a smooth setup
- Ensure payroll accounts are clearly defined in Xero before connecting the integration
- Review how payroll expenses and deductions should be mapped to accounting accounts
- Run a test synchronization after setup to confirm entries appear correctly
