Link My Books + Xero
Link My Books integrates directly with Xero to automate ecommerce bookkeeping:
- Seamless sync: Connect Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, TikTok, Walmart, WooCommerce or Square in minutes.
- Automatic data import: Each payout is imported and broken down into sales, refunds, fees and taxes.
- Clean entries: Link My Books creates accurate summary entries in Xero that match deposits in your bank account exactly.
- Tax compliance built-in: Automatically applies VAT, Sales Tax or GST rules per transaction.
- Real-time reconciliation: One-click matching inside Xero eliminates manual data entry.
- Multi-currency: Multi-currency settlements are supported and sent to Xero in the original foreign currency. A Xero multi-currency-enabled plan is required.
- Analytics & Benchmarking: View profitability, margins and key ecommerce KPIs, and compare performance against industry peers.
- Deferred revenue (add-on): For channels like Amazon with deferred transactions, the Deferred Revenue Recognition add-on separates and recognises revenue when released — keeping period reporting accurate.

FAQs for larger merchants & accountants
Can Link My Books handle a mix of Standard, Zero and Reduced-rated products?
Yes. Use Product Groups to assign different tax rates by group. For some channels, grouping can be automated so the right VAT rates apply every time.
We use a 3rd-party EU VAT provider (SimplyVAT, Taxually, Avalara). Will Link My Books still work?
Yes. Many customers use those services for calculation/filing. Link My Books handles the bookkeeping, so you simply reconcile the EU VAT payments in Xero.
How does Link My Books handle multi-currency settlements?
We post entries to Xero in the original foreign currency. To use this, your Xero subscription must have multi-currency enabled.
Can we map transactions to different accounts or Xero tracking categories?
Yes. You can customise mappings per channel and transaction type, apply tracking categories (e.g., by marketplace, gateway or location), and standardise these across clients.
Do you support deferred revenue (e.g., Amazon deferred transactions)?
Yes — via our Deferred Revenue Recognition add-on. We separate deferred amounts and recognise revenue on release, keeping period reporting accurate.
Is Link My Books suitable for high order volumes and multiple stores?
Absolutely. Link My Books is built for scale: multi-store, multi-channel and high-volume workflows are supported, with batch sending, robust mappings, and accountant-friendly controls.
Can an accounting firm manage multiple ecommerce clients?
Yes. Firms manage many clients in one dashboard, applying consistent templates, tax presets and mappings — improving speed and standardisation.
