Bookkeep automatically posts daily sales summary financials to Xero and reconciles payment deposits. We support a wide range of eCommerce and POS apps, including Square, Shopify, Amazon Seller, PayPal, Stripe, Treez, Clover, Mindbody, and many more.
To have your sales, sales tax, fees, returns, and payment data summarized and automatically synced to Xero nightly, simply connect your eCommerce, payment, and POS channels to Bookkeep. This enables a secure flow of financial data from your source channels, such as Shopify, to Xero as a daily summarized journal entry.
Payouts are also recorded automatically and will always align with your bank feeds for complete accuracy.
Getting started
Getting set up with Bookkeep takes just a few minutes and some 3 simple steps.
- Connect Bookkeep to Xero
First, create an account at Bookkeep.com (https://app.bookkeep.com/signup). Then connect your Xero. This will redirect you to login to Xero to give permission to Bookkeep to connect. Once connected, you will see your Xero account shown in your Bookkeep account.
- Connect Your Selling and Payment Channels
To enable your financial data flow into Xero, you will need to connect your upstream ecommerce, POS and payment channels to Bookkeep. This will enable the financial data from your source channel such as Shopify or Square, etc., to flow through to Xero as a daily summarized journal entry.
Once you have connected your selling and payment channels to Bookkeep, you will see them listed as apps inside your Bookkeep. Each of these channels will need to be mapped to the respective General Ledger accounts within Xero to ensure each financial data point hits the right account such as sales.
- Map Your Financial Data
To ensure your data ends up in the right accounts in Xero, click “Map” adjacent to the app you have connected. Map each incoming field (such as Gross Sales) to the right account in your Xero organization. Once you have completed the mappings and turned on the journal entry templates, Bookkeep will begin syncing your source system such as Shopify to Xero on a daily basis with summarized journal entries.
