payroll options
Once again, Xero is making everything better by making it WORSE. Our business was asked by a student for some work experience and we agreed. Wanting to be fair we put him on the payroll for the one (1) week work he worked. BUT it seems with the subscription we have there's no option to increase our payroll by one (1) employee, NO! We have to move up to the next subscription so it's going to cost us $25 to pay 1 employee for 1 week. This is a change, we used to be able to increase our subscription by 1 employee not move to the next level subscription (5-10 employees).
Xero wants to make everything beautiful but exactly who is getting the benefit of this?
Don't even get me started on the HELP function - what a piece of crap that is........

Frustrating Support – No Call Centre, Just Endless Articles
Xero used to be our go-to accounting software, but their support has become incredibly frustrating. There is no call centre, and every attempt to get help leads to the support team directing us to articles—even after we’ve already spent hours reading through them before reaching out. If your business requires real-time assistance or has complex questions, be prepared for a time-consuming process. We’ve decided to move all our new franchise accounting software elsewhere. Disappointing experience!

SF intengration with Xero - bust
Support has been less than satisfactory with using Make to connect Salesforce & Xero, no real steps given to sort out issues

Efficient Data Extraction & Visualization
Make's interface makes data extraction from Xero fast, easy and convenient. Using the different Watch and Search modules, I transferred data into Google Sheets where I processed the data further for high-level accounting analysis and visualize it on a Looker Studio dashboard. I used a scheduled trigger to perform data extraction every weekday, updating the dashboard data along with it.

Digitization made easy!
Make (Integromat) is amazing. Easy to get started with and with super helpful support. Used it to automate our business process and to integrate Xero with our other business software. From automating new client application forms (Jotform) to integrating with Xero to then automatically create new contacts in Xero or processing a wage payout form directly to a Xero Petty cash journal.

Great Integration
We use Make (Integromat) to integrate with Xero and our Google drive. Make is easy and intuitive to use. The graphical interface makes it really easy to build Scenarios (apps). There is also loads of support and help to solve those curly problems. The only gripe I would have concerns their licensing model. It is all based around "operations" and it is REALLY easy to chew through A LOT of operations without actually doing very much, especially if you have to pull down data then analyse it; each time you touch one row of data that is (at least) one operations. Having said that, it does the job and does it well. It may just cost you a little more than you might expect...
