DON'T USE questionable standard

Would have been zero if this was an option! Customer paid substantial invoice back in January and despite meeting facilities requests for additional information, photos, invoices, payment receipts, ID check the facility is still withholding funds from both parties. Unlawful actions causing primary producers serious hardships.

RUN. If you can find another option take it!

Strip support and customer service is abysmal. If nothing goes wrong, if there are no issues, and if you have no complaints, you will likely find Stripe a good company. But if anything goes sideways be prepared to invest hours and days and weeks of effort and frustration.

Set up

My first payment is still not through , I suspect my setup is not complete , however, setup is confusing , not direct contact person to help and asks for code from an authenticator app which is where? I will be removing this

I have used Stripe for years as a developer and for ecom. I tried to set up a currently active account and it DOES NOT WORK. It created a new account on Stripe instead of connecting to an existing one. DO NOT USE THIS. very confusing... Do use Stripe directly, they are great for online payments.

Questionable practises

I have had several problems with stripe and I am now removing it as a payment option. Without my knowledge they were taking a ‘climate offset fee’ - with no prior agreement or any description of where the money is actually going to. After receiving a big payment they they asked for pictures of my bank statements and they wanted to be given reasons for payments. Then finally, they started splitting up payments in all sorts of weird ways which made it very hard to reconcile and keep track of things.
