Overview
Year-end packs, built from the ledger itself
Report Craft reads a client's chart of accounts and up to five financial years of trial balance, then produces the statutory report set an Australian firm actually signs off: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Cash Flow, Trading Statement, Appropriation, Tax Schedule, Detailed Accounts, Trust Resolutions, Notes and Comments.
Nothing is re-keyed, and the figures reconcile because they are the ledger's own.
Consolidation without the spreadsheet
Roll any number of organisations, trusts or branches into one group set of accounts. Post elimination entries to strip out intercompany loans, sales and investments, so the group statements show external activity only. Eliminations are Report Craft's own and are never written back to the ledger. Consolidations don't count towards your bill.
Craft the pack once, reuse it every year
- Six built-in packs (Tax 1-4, Bank, Public), or save your firm's own
- Choose which reports go in, and the order they print
- Your headings, your colours, your logo on every page
- Custom pages with up to 8 widgets (text, graphs, pictures) can be added to Custom Report Packs
- Compilation text, declarations, notes and comments in your words
- Comparative periods with percentage analysis, and parent/child account drill-down
- One bundled, print-ready PDF with headers, footers and page numbers
Rename or re-code an account and the change is pushed back to the ledger, so the two never drift apart.
Set it on a schedule and stop logging in
Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly: the ledger refreshes, the pack builds, and the PDF arrives in the inbox you nominate. Reporting stops being a job someone has to remember.
Optional AI commentary
A plain-English health check and recommendations on any report, run under your firm's own OpenAI/Anthropic API key. Your client data is never used to train a model.
Built in Australia, for Australian reporting
A 1 July - 30 June financial year and Australian company tax rates, out of the box. An organisation kept in another currency is flagged on screen and on every report rather than quietly presented as dollars.
Who it is for
Accounting firms, bookkeepers and tax practices - and anyone carrying more than one ledger: franchise and property groups, not-for-profits, and owners of several entities.

Report Craft + Xero
Report Craft is a financial reporting and consolidation tool for accounting firms. It connects to Xero through Xero's standard app connection: the firm selects an organisation on Xero's own consent screen, and no Xero credentials are ever entered in Report Craft.
Permissions. We ask only for what the reports use: the organisation details and chart of accounts, the Trial Balance (the source of every figure in every report), the Profit & Loss report, and permission to refresh data overnight. We do not ask for contacts, invoices, bills, payments, payroll, assets, projects or journals.
What is read. On connection we fetch the chart of accounts and up to five financial years of Trial Balance, so the firm can report immediately.
What is written. Only the chart of accounts, and only when a user edits an account in Report Craft. A rename or recode is pushed back to Xero in the background; if Xero rejects it, the account is flagged with Xero's message so the two charts never silently disagree. Consolidation elimination entries are applied to Report Craft's own held figures and never posted to Xero.
Data sync. Three paths keep figures current: a full pull on connect; an on-demand refresh on each ledger for changes made in Xero moments ago; and a nightly sweep that refreshes every ledger not already synced that day and rebuilds any consolidations built from it, so the first user each morning never waits on a sync.
Automation and workflows. A firm connects each client organisation once, then builds a report pack — the reports, their order, headings, colours and logo — and reuses it across every client. A standing schedule emails that ledger's PDF pack monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly: the ledger refreshes, the pack builds, and the PDF lands in the nominated inbox with no login required. Any number of organisations can be rolled into a consolidated group, and a group can mix Xero organisations with QuickBooks companies where a client's ledgers span both.
Disconnection. Disconnecting a ledger in Report Craft removes that organisation's connection at Xero. Because one Xero approval can cover several organisations, the firm's overall access is cancelled only when its last Xero ledger is disconnected, so removing one client never cuts off the others. If the firm instead disconnects from Xero's Connected apps, Report Craft notices, marks the ledger disconnected, and emails the firm's contact once. Reconnecting later recognises the same organisation, so the ledger returns with its mappings and prior-year figures rather than duplicating.

Getting started
1. Create your firm account
Start from Get this app. Xero asks only for your name and email at this point - no accounting permissions yet - and the sign-up form arrives pre-filled. Set a password and you are in. Your 14-day trial starts straight away and no credit card is needed.
2. Connect your first organisation
Client Ledgers → Add Company → Connect to Xero, approve at Xero's consent screen, and pick an organisation. Report Craft reads the chart of accounts and up to five financial years of trial balance, which takes a minute or two. Connect as many as you hold: each organisation you authorise adds a ledger rather than replacing the last.
3. Check what Xero told us
Report Craft takes the organisation's type and line of business straight from Xero, and they decide which reports a pack offers - trust resolutions and appropriation statements only appear where they belong. Both are read-only in Xero's API, so if either is blank, set it in Xero and refresh the ledger. Any ledger still missing one is flagged on the Client Ledgers list, so nothing is quietly skipped at year end.
4. Set your firm's house style, once
Upload your logo, signature and cover image, choose your report headings and colours, and write your standing compilation text and declarations. Every client pack picks them up from then on. This is the step worth doing properly: it is what makes the output look like your firm's work rather than ours.
5. Generate a pack
Take one of the six built-in packs or save your own - pick the reports, set the order they print in, and generate a single print-ready PDF.
6. Consolidate, when you need to
Create a consolidation, attach the member ledgers, and post elimination entries to strip out intercompany activity. Group statements build from the same reports as a single ledger, so there is nothing new to learn.
7. Put it on a schedule
Set a ledger's pack to email monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, and the rest runs itself: the ledger refreshes overnight, the pack builds, and the PDF arrives in the inbox you nominate.
