How Much Does It Cost?
Hello Clever does not charge a setup fee or ongoing monthly fees. The following transaction fees apply per paid invoice depending on the payment method used:
- PayID & PayTo: 0.8% + 30c inc GST
- Domestic Visa/Mastercard: 1.7% + 30c inc GST
- Domestic AMEX: 2% + 30c inc GST
- International Visa/Mastercard: 2.90% + 30c inc GST
- International AMEX: 3.5% + 30c inc GST
You can surcharge the payment fee by including the fee in the final charged amount.
Hello Clever + Xero
After you integrate Hello Clever with Xero, you issue your invoices as normal, ensuring that Hello Clever is the selected payment provider.
When your customer receives the invoice, they choose "Pay Now" as normal and are provided with the option to pay with PayID, PayTo or Credit/Debit card.
PayID
Hello Clever generates a unique PayID for each of your invoices. This PayID is shown to the customer at the time of payment, who uses it to make the payment from their bank. The payment amount is validated to ensure it's correct and the funds typically settle within a few seconds. The open record in Xero is updated as soon as the payment settles.
PayTo
If this is the first time your customer pays using PayTo from Hello Clever, they will be asked for their BSB and Account Number (or their PayID if they have one). A PayTo agreement is then created in their bank account. Once the payment agreement is approved, the payment is debited from the customer's account and the transaction settles, usually in a few seconds.
Any subsequent PayTo payments made by the customer will be debited from their account as soon as they pay your invoice using PayTo, without requiring a new payment agreement to be established.
Credit/Debit Cards
If the customer chooses to pay your invoice using a credit or debit card, they enter their card details as normal.
Getting started
To get started, follow these simple steps:
- Create an account with Hello Clever at: https://merchant.helloclever.co/
- Connect your Xero account to Hello Clever by selecting Link Site -> Xero from the Hello Clever Dashboard.
- Start sending invoices
- We're required to perform a KYC check on all our customers. Once this is complete, your funds will be settled to your nominated bank account.
