Overview
FreeDAM can capture all the details of a funeral from the first call, arrangement, funeral, burial, cremation and repatriation in a user friendly interface that allows quick data entry and retrieval. FreeDAM provides all the paperwork required for a funeral, and registers deaths electronically in New Zealand, Victoria and Queensland (Australia). FreeDAM produces excellent branded funeral specific invoices with very little typing from data already captured. FreeDAM can upload these invoices to Xero and download Xero payments keeping FreeDAM accounts ‘in sync’ with Xero.
FreeDAM Online + Xero
FreeDAM contacts can be upload to Xero and any FreeDAM invoices can then be uploaded against that contact. Uploaded invoices will have all the line items coded to the correct sales accounts. Payments received on invoices in Xero can be downloaded to FreeDAM. Interest in FreeDAM can be uploaded to Xero as additional invoices with a line item coded to ‘Interest Income’. A list of ‘out of sync’ cases allow users to see balances that differ between the two systems.
The interface displays FreeDAM and Xero transactions side by side for a clear understanding of the syncing and history.
Getting started
To start syncing data with Xero navigate to the Xero section in FreeDAM and click the ‘Connect to Xero’ button. Choose the Xero company you wish to sync with and click ‘Allow’. FreeDAM will check that the GST numbers match in both systems.
Initial settings that need to be set are: Choose how a contact gets uploaded to Xero (a default setting can be selected). Default settings concerning accounting details will also need to be set and the FreeDAM sales accounts will need to be mapped to Xero sales accounts. If you use tracking in Xero there is a section for configuring these. Finally select a date that the syncing will start on. The team at Freedom Software can help you with this.
