Would not recommend
Not user friendly. Not worth your time to waste months finding out for yourself why you should use another service.

Buggy system
I was previously on Quickbooks and used their payroll system that was powered by Wagepoint and I was very pleased with the experience that when I switched to Xero it was a no brainer to use Wagepoint directly. When I started using wagepoint it became very clear that it is not the same experience and did not live up to expectations. Wagepoints UI is not really intuitive. Doing Vacation hours and pay is very cumbersome and not user friendly as I have experienced in other payroll systems. The exporting to Xero is manual and not automatic which is a pain point. I have had 2 software bugs that have caused a lot of headaches where funds were taken from our accounts that were unapproved (Customer service blamed it on user error as I had moved an employee during a processing time, but if the system had checks and balances this shouldn't even be an option to do). The second bug was there was a feature where we could turn on a wage subsidy on our account and Wagepoint would do the payroll remittance reduction so we could access. I remember clicking this button in early 2020 and assumed that the rest was taken care of only to find out almost a year later that somehow the button was indeed not clicked. Maybe this was user error, but without looking at the backend data to see if somehow I unclicked it during some payroll processing I can only assume that something went wrong with their system. The jury is out on that part. Either way, I do not enjoy wagepoint at all and would choose an alternative if we had the option.

Does anyone know if there is an automatic import from Wagepoint to Xero or do I have to go in each time and export the data. I can't seem to find a function that allows the reports to pull in automatically.

Great team and great app! This is certainly our go-to payroll app when it comes to our small business Xero customers. The UI is easy to navigate, there's a nice Xero integration, but more important than anything is the level of service that the Wagepoint team provides. Since running payroll is an exceptionally time-sensitive process, ensuring that you're enable to receive time support is important, and Wagepoint can fully provide for this.

We have a bunch of customers using the Wagepoint and Xero integration. My favourite aspect is how customizable it is. Most integrations build the logic for you, but these guys did a great job of allowing you to select what and where things are posted in Xero. Couldn't be happier with what they built.
Specifically, if you pay certain aspects outside of Wagepoint, you have control in Xero to pay things through the bill (and not a clearing account).
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
