Pushing expenses from Brex to Xero has been a huge time saver, since it allows employees to match their own receipts to their own expenses, making it way easier to reconcile expenses for the whole company.
Experience has been horrible. Brex/Xero integration has broken multiple times. Have not been able to sync for two weeks. If you are a Brex user Xero is not the booking service for you.
Brex requires a manual push to Xero each time, unlike other credit/charge cards which are able to be setup as accounts and sync automatically. Definitely a step backwards.
My clients bank feed came in backward. Spent money showed as received and payments on the credit card count shows as spent. Working on troubleshooting now to hopefully fix it but if I have to manually import data monthly that would be about the worst scenario possible.
This integration is amazing. It saves us so much time, which is important when you're a startup and don't have a full time accounting team. This has been most seamless integration we've made with Xero so far. Unlike with Chase (the credit card we used to use as our main corporate card), the integration doesn't break. There's nothing more annoying than having to re-set up an integration every 3 months!!
Manual push to Xero each time. Once a month will do. Front-end on Brex makes it easy to code expenses, but not as detailed as some controllers would like. Each transaction will create a JE in Xero to help with more granularity. Brex adds a new AP account unlike a CC "bank account" I set up for Expensify coding. Cash reconciliation is quick as I "Created" an entry against the Brex AP account. Please let me know your best practices!
