So far so good
I was able to set it up in an evening, after switching from Stripe due to their poor ACH customer experience. Sales was great and answered my questions. Onboarding was great and answered questions I didn't even know I had. It's been straight forward and the fees are as expected. It's a far better experience for the customer and the admin over Stax or Stripe!

Very Disappointing
I switched to Helcim because of their "Fee Saver" feature that is supposed to allow merchants to pass through processing fees to customers. This feature is not currently available for Xero and is not on the development plan.
The Xero interface has other challenges. In some cases, it recorded fees twice. In some cases, it did not record the actual deposit. The clearing account setup by Helcim did not clear. Rather than helping to resolve the issue, they pointed me to various reports on their platform. I had to cross reference multiple reports to identify the errant entries and many of their reports could not be printed or exported.
Very disappointing.

Transparent Processing at your Pace
I like how the fees are very transparent, the reconciliation is automated, and you don't pay any monthly fees. Helcim has done a great job on getting this all to work. I even see they have a way to add credit card surcharges if you wish or to control whether clients pay only by their bank card or their credit card. Kudos to the Helcim Team including Mariko Tai.

The set up may be easy for this app but they can not handle large payments. They closed the account without so much as being sure as to why they could not verify even when provided with proof.

As a financial service, it is important that we confirm information is correct when verifying a transaction in order to help protect you and your business from fraud. In addition, we have strict obligations to adhere to Anti-Money-Laundering, Acceptable Use, and Risk policies. There were certain factors surrounding the details of the business and/or the transactions that were not in line with one or more of these policies, so we unfortunately had to make the decision to close the account.

Setting Up Helcim
Helcim is the platform I have been waiting for for years. Having all payment systems in one place is beneficial to our firm. The setup is a breeze and takes less than 10 minutes. . We have terminal here set up in 3 minutes. The auto-collect is easy to set-up, and we are excited to see the first round this month.

Easy and affordable
Getting Helcim setup was really easy. The signup was simple and the Xero connection takes just a few clicks.
Our clients tell us that using it to pay their bills is easy, and we've seen our transaction fees drop by ~20%. A win-win for everyone.
