Initially impressed until they declined to process a payment

Though their payment turn-around times are slow for ACH payments, I've used Helcim for a year or two now and have been happy. Then I got a higher paying job, and Helcim declined to process the payment out of the blue, after having withdrawn the funds from my clients account. So now the funds haven't been in either my client's bank account or mine for the past week, and if I don't lose the business, I will have to wait until Helcim decides to return the payment to my client and the client's bank credits the funds back to their account before we can try processing the payment again. This will be through a different service. I don't appear to have a maximum amount for processing an ACH through Helcim, the funds were available. They just don't seem to have liked this transaction. I will be very upset if there's a delay in returning the funds and if there are fees charged for this payment.

Closed my account after taking first payment

I applied and was approved for a merchant account. After I took my first payment, I received an email from Trust & Safety asking about our IT business. They closed the account immediately with no explanation. NOT FRIENDLY TO SMALL BUSINESSES! I only signed up because a client wanted to pay using recurring ACH, and it seemed so easy to use. I have to wait 5-7 business days for the client to get refunded. Not even sure if they will get their money back. In the meantime, we can't collect from the client. This is so embarrassing!! XERO please do not allow this company to integrate with your system. Should be ZERO star. I'm sorry that I only read the 4-5 stars review before signing up. People, please read the 1-star reviews. STAY AWAY from this "payment processor."

Canceled after taking payments

Helcim stated I do not meet the guidelines of their "Acceptable Use Policy" as an event planner. Stating they would not process any invoices from my clients and they would be returning the payments to the clients that had already paid.

Cancelled with no reason

I received payment from the first invoice I issued using this payment method and they canceled my account with no reasoning supplied and kicked the payment back to my client. I reached out a few times and no explanation would be given and no assistance given.

Exactly what I needed

I wanted a provider that offered an ACH option for customers if they wanted it. Gocardless seems to be recommened by Xero as an ACH option but only with automatic pulls. Most all of my customers that want an ACH option, want to decide when they make the payment. Helcim does this with a simple paynow button built into the invoice. Most of my invoices hit the cap out fee of $6 usd over Gocardless at $5, but its worth it. Also Helcims approval process is way faster and easier to get you going quicker. Last their customer service is better allowing you to call and get someone immediately. I am still waiting on a call back from Gocardless.... So far so good with Helcim and their ACH options. I cant speak for any of the other services that they offer such as credit cards, but I immagine they are pretty painless as well.

So far so good

I was able to set it up in an evening, after switching from Stripe due to their poor ACH customer experience. Sales was great and answered my questions. Onboarding was great and answered questions I didn't even know I had. It's been straight forward and the fees are as expected. It's a far better experience for the customer and the admin over Stax or Stripe!
