Cannot Recommend

Working with Biller Genie has been a headache. My accountant recommended it when the processors offered by Xero were not meeting our needs, so Biller Genie didn’t have to sell me on much. Onboarding took weeks. I was very clear about our industry, and our application for Fortis was getting declined. My sales rep was telling me it was because our president’s email address didn’t match her legal name? After the second application rejection, we were finally told it is because Fortis does not work with companies in our industry. Days were wasted. We got set up with Approvely, which required information that no other processor has requested, but we were in so deep, we couldn’t turn around. Finally got approved and we were up and running, and the first time my clients tried to pay: rejected. This took a day to resolve. I am in the middle of an accounting software transition, so there are old invoices that have already been paid, but needed to be entered in order to reconcile. We have accounts on autopay, and I didn’t want clients getting double charged. My sales rep provided the directions to turn off sync, which were followed. Old invoices were entered, and before I could mark them as paid, Biller Genie pulled the invoices into their software and processed them. Sync was off, but invoices were still pulled and funds pulled from my clients accounts. $25k worth of double payments and a month (and counting!) later, their tech support tells me “something weird happened.” Real professional! Biller Genie says it’s been “fixed” and they couldn’t replicate the error on their end. I turned off sync again, and low and behold, invoices were still pulled. They are still looking into this bug, but the damage this has caused is irreparable.

Poor Customer Service

Been using Biller Genie for 2 years with no issue. I recently incurred an issue and support responds promptly, however it has been 6 days and the issue is still not fixed. Also accounting for fee based credit card programs is wrong.

Super simple invoice distribution and collection

Biller Genie couldn't be easier to use or more practical. There is a direct API connection between Biller Genie and Xero and it works flawlessly in both directions. I enter my invoices in Xero and they are immediately e-mailed or mailed to the customer. From there, Biller Genie handles the credit card processing, ACH, and dunning. My customers get an online portal to see their payment history and everyone is happy. Highly recommended.
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
