Overview

Hammock is the accounting platform designed specifically for landlords. Hammock users can:

  • Categorise payments received and made with both personal and business current accounts.
  • Receive real-time notifications of rental payments (and alerts for missing ones).
  • Record pro-rata income and expenses in line with the ownership structure of each property or portfolio of properties.

Once Hammock is connected with Xero, our users gain even more time savings and efficiencies.

  • Avoid double data entry
    • Keep property income and expenses separate from other income streams
    • Categorise all property-related transactions in Hammock, and synchronise them with Xero when ready
  • Keep the transactions categories consistent between Hammock and Xero
    • Map Hammock’s transaction categories to the Xero organisation’s chart of accounts.
  • Stay in control of the integrity of the accounts
    • See if any of the data for the transaction is not aligned, e.g. date or amount has been altered in Xero so no longer matches with Hammock.
    • When a transaction is reconciled in Xero, it is locked and it can no longer be edited in Hammock
    • If a bank transaction has been deleted in Xero, delete the corresponding records in Hammock
    • If a transaction is untracked in Hammock and has not been reconciled in Xero, it will be deleted from Xero as well.
  • Keep assigned contacts up-to-date
    • Optionally, create and use a set of placeholder Xero contacts corresponding to Hammock’s transaction categories.

Hammock + Xero

The set up of the integration takes only a few minutes per organisation. As you connect Hammock to Xero, you define the mapping between the categories in Hammock and the account codes in Xero. All transactions will be then be synchronised in line with the mapping you define.

  • Manage all property income and expenses in Hammock, then add them to all the other income streams and expenses in Xero.
  • Assign transactions to existing contacts, or create new, named contacts when managing the transaction.
  • Create separate Hammock feeds for properties with different ownership structures (portfolios). Monitor grand totals per portfolio as well as pro rata subtotals per share of ownership.
  • Finalise the reconciliation of transactions in Xero and lock them from being edited further in Hammock.
