Scott’s Add-ins has been a real game changer for me. It makes pulling together reports quick and seamless, without the need for manual exports, and the interface is simple and intuitive to use. What really stands out, though, is the customer service—responses are fast, helpful, and they genuinely listen. I even suggested a new data output and they engaged with it straight away. I’ve been using Scott’s Add-ins for two years, and it’s become an indispensable part of my Xero workflow. How I use it: • I use Xero’s Tracking Categories to identify locations. Before producing reports, I rely on Scott’s to quickly confirm that every transaction has the correct location code assigned — a task that used to take me ages manually. • I use it to produce custom reports tailored to my clients’ needs. The flexibility of pulling exactly the data I need into Excel makes it easy to build professional-looking reports and workpapers. • One of my favorite uses is for a client with multiple owners. Each month I allocate interest income among owners based on their average daily balances across all cash accounts. I used to do this entirely by hand in Excel. Now, with Scott’s, I just enter the start and end dates and the total interest income — and in seconds, it pulls the balances I need and completes the allocation automatically. Support: I've reached out to Scott maybe twice a year with questions. Every time, he's replied no later than the next day with a helpful answer. Most recently, he set up a Zoom call for the two of us and his developer to go over my issue. We just finished that session, and I was blown away by the level of personal attention and support they provided. Bottom line: I’m a huge fan. It makes it easy to bring Xero data into Excel so I can generate the exact reports and workpapers I need — quickly, accurately, and efficiently. The product is excellent, and the support is even better.

This addin works really well at extracting data from Xero, allowing you to build your own reports and dashboards. What really impressed me is the customer service - not only was the provider willing to provide an extended trial period, to accommodate my period of leave, but they were quick to respond to my emails. I had questions about the add-in functionality, they quickly organised a Zoom call to see the issue and provided two different fixes in short order. Happy to say that Scott's Add-in is now an essential piece of our month end close process.

We have been using Scott's Add-in for around 18 months now for our monthly management reporting and the time saving is massive. Going from someone having to dump out of Xero each markets P&L and the transactions behind them, every month, for every manager, to sending a message out saying your reports are ready to update is just huge. Managers simply update one date field from a lookup list and voila, their reports update! Scott's team are always very fast to respond to any queries. With their latest feature release, they added an additional field to the output that I requested, on the day I requested it. To ensure reporting integrity, I have a Scott's Add-in trial balance sitting behind my reports to check that any new GL codes that have been added in Xero have also been added into the reports we have built. I highly recommend this add-in.
