Crazy price increases - be careful

We still want to keep using Dear Inventory, but we are seriously considering migrating to another platform such as MRPEasy or similar From 2016 to 2021 the DEAR yearly subscription was $USD 750 per year, then in 2022 it jumped to $1350, 2023 to $1485, 2024 to $3421, 2025 they are looking to charge $5634 per year. I have contacted Cin7 about this and there was no concession given. There was certainly no new/improved features in the product (for our business anyhow ) to justify this rapid price increase. Despite all the hassles of starting again on another platform, we will probably jump ship

Game changer!

We have used Cin7 for the past 5 years back when it was previously Dear. We can see the benefit it has brought to our business. From tracking inventory to syncing with Xero. B2B orders and reporting/forecasting. The price is quite high for South Africans but we make sure we utilise a lot of the various features and integrations.

Expensive and terrible support

We were with Dear that turned into Cin7. Price increases have been massive YoY and you get nothing extra for it. To get an answer out of support is hopeless and effective time to fix any issues has been a massive drag. To run a new migration would be a massive headache so we just feel trapped in the system with zero help or support.

Intuitive to a point, support poor

Setup was great, onboarding team first class. Actual support now very poor, and unable to help on basic questions - initally just send irrelevant knowledge base articles as they don't bother actually reading requests. Year 1 $4,400, year 2 $4,972. Quite big increases, for a low quality of service. Now looking at moving to another Zero compatible system.

Large yearly price increases, poor customer service

Since Dear was acquired by Cin7 prices have steadily increased and customer service has decreased. Before the Cin7 acquisition customer service was prompt and helpful. Good luck now if you ever run into an issue! For a business our size the main draw of Dear was the competitive price - $50USD a month when we started using it in 2015 with modest, reasonable, increases up until 2021 - when Cin7 arrived and the price doubled. Now in 2024 they have over tripled our subscription price from where it was in 2023. The product works well most of the time but I can no longer recommend it.
