Overview
Connect Uber for Business with Xero from your Uber for Business dashboard to automatically sync expenses, attach receipts, and simplify reconciliation.
Automate reconciliation - Uber expenses automatically flow into your Xero account and auto-match to your bank/credit card transactions.
Expedite accounting - Uber expenses sync daily Xero, so your accounting stays up to date.
Reduce manual effort Trip receipts and tax invoices are automatically attached to each expense, reducing manual uploads and missing documentation.
Uber + Xero
Connect Uber for Business to your Xero account - Keep your Uber charges and receipts in sync with your accounting system.
Set up your integration - On your Uber for Business dashboard, go to integration settings, select accounting, select Xero from the list of accounting systems, sign in, and give consent. Then choose your vendor, expense account, payment account, and tracking categories.
Your transactions sync automatically Once a day, Uber sends the previous day’s charges and receipts to your Xero account. Individual trip receipts are included with your transactions.
Trip adjustments When a trip amount changes, Uber sends the difference as a separate transaction.
Review matched transactions Uber can match charges and trip receipts with the related bank charge in Xero. You will still need to review and approve each match.

Getting started
Requirements to enable accounting automation: You must be an Admin for your Uber for Business organization. You must have access to Admin credentials (login only; API key not available) for your company’s Xero account. Your organization must be on a pay-per-trip billing method.
How to enable the integration:
- Log in to the Uber for Business Dashboard.
- Navigate to your dashboard Settings.
- Switch to the ‘Integrations’ sub tab.
- Select Accounting Automation.
- Click on ‘Setup Connection.’
- Select Xero from the list. 7.A secure window will appear. Enter your accounting software credentials to authorize the connection. You can reach out to your Finance department if you do not have the credentials. 8.Uber will fetch your account details. This may take a few minutes and you may need to refresh your browser.
- Once we’ve fetched your account details, you’ll see a notification informing the connection is successful.
- Next, you’ll need to configure your settings (see steps below) before the integration is complete.
Configuring your settings
- Once the connection is established, you must configure how data flows into your system:
- Vendor Mapping: Select the “Uber” vendor from your accounting system list. If one does not exist, you can create a new one.
- Account Mapping: Default Payment Account: Select the bank or credit card account used to pay for Uber trips. Default Expense Account: Select the general ledger account where Uber expenses should be categorized (e.g., Travel Expense).
- Category Mapping: You can map specific Uber programs to specific tracking categories in your system. Example: Map “Uber Eats” to “Meals” and “Rides” to “Travel.”
- Sync Start Date: The expense sync will start from the time when the integration setup (including configuration settings) is completed. Therefore, your past expenses will not be synced through this integration
