Not Beautiful

Despite being owned by Xero, the integration is awful and certainly isn't "beautiful". It has had no development since Xero hovered it up. It doesn't remember previous settings half the time, struggles to read suppliers names (often just gets it wrong) and misreads figures, if the VAT doesn't match exactly it cant cope etc. For example I have a monthly rent bill, that never changes, is very clear, and Hubdoc insists on picking up the net figure as the gross every time. I keep on changing it, but it never learns. Generally a pretty poor product. Only thing going for it is that it is "free" with the Xero subscription. If you can stretch to Dext, use it instead from the get go - it is arms and heads above this product.

Fantastic time saver

I love HubDoc. Set up rules from my Outlook account to forward emails to Hubdoc, Invoices then appear in Xero. Rarely get glitches with invoices once it is set up. Yes sometimes I have to alter the draft invoices when they come into Xero if there are multiple VAT rates on one invoice, but it still saves me hours on manual data entry

VAT Rounding

The VAT on the bills very often gets rounded incorrectly and then the document can't be pushed through. It doesn't let any correction to be made in Hubdoc, and the only way to resolve this is to download the bill and then upload it in Xero.

Duplicates invoices , reads credit notes as a purchase. Cannot handle splits on expenses well.

GST issue

Very frustrating when the GST is out by cent or so, and can't be adjusted to match to the invoice

Difficult to create new accounts

Its reasonable when you get it going but difficult when you have multiple accounts as it wants a different email address for each account and so very confusing to login once and access all profiles (which Xero does well).
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
