Planir + Xero
Planir connects directly to your Xero organization through a persistent, live connection. Once authorized, your financial data syncs automatically. No monthly exports, no manual uploads, no file transfers. Your reports always reflect your latest Xero data.
What data Planir pulls from Xero
Planir reads your chart of accounts, profit and loss data, balance sheet data, trial balance, transaction details, tracking categories, and contact records. This data powers every report, budget, forecast, and dashboard the platform generates. The connection is read-only. Planir never writes to or modifies your Xero data.
How the data sync works
When you connect your Xero organization, Planir establishes a persistent authorised connection using Xero's official OAuth 2.0 API. Your data syncs automatically on an ongoing basis, so reports generated today reflect the transactions posted yesterday. There is no need to manually trigger a refresh or re-export data each month.
For multi-entity organizations, you can connect multiple Xero organizations to a single Planir account. Each entity maintains its own live connection, and consolidated reporting pulls from all connected sources.
Data accuracy and separation
Planir maintains a strict separation between the data layer and the AI layer. Every number in your reports is computed from your Xero source data, not generated or estimated by AI. The AI handles commentary, formatting, structure, and presentation. This means your board sees numbers that are traceable back to the original Xero transactions.
Security and privacy
Your Xero data is transmitted and stored securely. Planir uses encrypted connections for all data transfers and follows industry-standard security practices to protect your financial information. Access is controlled through Xero's own authorization framework, so you manage permissions using your existing Xero user roles.
Additional data sources
While Xero is the primary integration, Planir also supports a native QuickBooks Online connection for organizations using that platform. For businesses not yet on a supported cloud accounting system, CSV and Excel file uploads are available as a manual alternative. Regardless of the data source, all reports and analysis follow the same format and quality standards.
