Everytime a job gets created a new supplier name gets created too and is time consuming merging them after in Xero, and deleting duplicates. Remember is a mechanic doing financial data entry!. Also, would be nice that only transactions with the invoice attached gets migrated to Xero, and that the pdf gets also transferred as is time consuming when you need to have a look the document you have to go back to mechanic desk and the search tool in here is very restricted as you can not filter columns/info or organise data for analysis.

Hi Daniela, MechanicDesk will match the name of the supplier and customer to the contact in Xero so if you enter the name to be exactly the same, they will matchup, this duplicates issue should not be an ongoing issue, please contact our support, we can do a team Viewer session to demonstrate it and also see if we can find anything in your account that is causing it. With regard to attaching the pdf, unfortunately, MechanicDesk allows admin and owner users to adjust the invoice after finalisation when Xero does not if there an attached payment so, in some instance, when you do so, the pdf might not be able to be updated in Xero causing discrepancies. We suggest do you most of the daily operation activities in MechanicDesk and use Xero for tax, banking reconciliation, payroll and financial reports purposes.

Fantastic for Mechanics!

Very good system, the small things that aren't super friendly with integrating with xero there are easy ways around it and they do try and help as much and as quickly as they can. They seem to always be developing/improving the program as well.

Best choice I have made for our workshop

We have been using Mechanic desk in our Forklift Mechanic workshop for the last 3 years. When we started we only used about 20% of the system. Going through the covid pandemic we have opened up more and more areas to allow us to operate more remotely. The more we use, the more impressed we are with the usability and content. The designers really have thought of everything and who the end user is. i.e. Mechanics who usually don't have the most amazing computer literacy. All of this is backed up with AMAZING customer service. Nothing is ever a problem and the tech support is fantastic. They call you back straight away and you always get an effective clear answer to your enquiry. This program has been a game changer for our business and I cannot recommend it more highly.

It Was Amazing

Mecahnic Desk started out awesome and did everything we wanted. Sadly in later times its not syncing accurately to Xero and changing figures and duplicating clients to the point where im spending hours each week merging them. Support is pretty unhelpful and just state its something im doing.

When you create a new job/booking/quote, please make sure you select the existing customer from the search result list on the right-hand side (you can check their full details there). If not the system assumes it is a new customer. If you need more clarification, please contact our support team.

One Extremely Happy Workshop ! We swopped over to Mechanics Desk in Dec 2019 at very short notice ( had a dummy spit ), after being with Workshop Software for 5 years. In this time we frequently had difficulties with Workshop Software and got the bum steer every time from support. They even challenged the validity of our problems, data doubling up, missing items on invoices, xero intergration etc. The difference between MD and WS is light years apart ! The support from everyone at MD is awesome and the way in which they customise the platform to our requirements is outstanding. Our technicians have picked up the navigation of MD seamlessly, not too bad for old dinosaurs. We wish we had changed over earlier and not kept our loyalty with WS who would not listen or act on any of our challenges. We have exciting times ahead being supported by MD, an outstanding software platform which will only go from strength to strength. We cannot speak highly enough about their professionalism. Mechanics desk, awesome, not only a good job system, but tracking, orders, integration with xero is just fantastic, and support is blooming awesome
