The new Shopify integration by Xero is here. It syncs sales, payouts, fees and taxes from Shopify into Xero so your books stay up-to-date. Whether you sell online, in-store with POS, or both, this integration is designed to provide a clear view of your business performance.

The Shopify by Xero integration combines the power of your ecommerce platform with Xero’s robust accounting software. Once connected, it works in the background to help keep your financials up-to-date.

  • Customise sync options: Choose ‘Daily summary’ for high-volume stores to keep Xero clean, or ‘Per-sale transactions’ for detailed customer and line-item data

  • Flexible tax mapping: Map Shopify taxes to Xero tax rates or liability accounts to keep tax treatment accurate in your books.

  • Historical data: Sync up to 90 days of historical data to get your books up to date instantly

Getting started

Getting started

  1. Click the "Get this app" button at the top of this page
  2. Log in with your Xero account
  3. You will then be redirected to connect your Shopify and Xero accounts
  4. Follow the prompts to continue with integration set-up.

Not helpful at all

Not easy to install. Installed but not working. Booked onto a call at 21.45 next week to hopefully resolve it but honestly feels like a disaster. Xero markets itself as accounting software for small businesses but this does not feel like something novices like me can work with. Support wasn't able to resolve the issues either hence the 1.1 call so we will see if that helps. If not then I wish I had stayed with Sage for £10 a month. Also...0 stars wasn't an option.

A Mess!

I was on the Xero Outbound Integration - it was easy and working as expected, but Xero discontinued that app and forced me to switch to this "Shopify by Xero" claiming it is better. This is an integration with Amaka - not made very clear by Shopify. It is cumbersome to set up, doesn't work with Xero Ignite plans as that plan is limited to 5 bills per month. Basically forces you to upgrade you XERO plan or use the paid Amaka plan so that you can access features to ensure the clearing account works correctly. Even Google AI told me to "ditch it immediately" because Amaka's "free" tier is a trap for Xero Ignite users! No good Xero.

Multi store support?

Can't use this app until it supports multiple storefronts integrated into one Xero company. We use faire and two shopify storefronts, one wholesale and one retail. I can't have an integration that kicks the existing store out!

The new Shopify Xero integration built by Amaka does support mutliple storefronts for One Xero Organisation. This feature, however, was not a feature of the old integration, and we are concerned you may have inadvertently connected to it by mistake. We have attached recent communication regarding the changes and suggest you may need to book a dedicated 1:1 Zoom session to help with your migration. To do this go to: https://amaka.com/support-session-scheduler/ The current integration will stop working on 8 July 2026.
