ROLL is designed for businesses requiring between 1 and 25 users and trade on time such as creative businesses, consultancies, digital agencies, architects, civil and environmental engineers and other service-based businesses.

What ROLL covers

ROLL manages the full project workflow for a business from capturing leads and opportunities and quoting through to managing projects, tasks, costs, time tracking, scheduling and invoicing. Importantly, the software provides visibility over individual projects and business performance.

Our point of difference

We provide functional software that is intuitive and straightforward. It's not super complicated and ‘busy’. ROLL has an easy-to-use interface which teams love. It allows users to come up to speed with the software quickly, move fast, and spend less time on admin and more time on paid work.

Types of projects

We manage the three types of projects that service businesses use: “Fixed Fee”, “Time & Materials” and “Retainer” projects. Project management includes quoting, time tracking, cost management, task assigning, invoice generation, progress payment management and scheduling.

Custom data

If you have data that you want to capture that’s specific to your business, our super flexible custom fields functionality allows you to customise ROLL and capture that information. This functionality allows you to tailor the software nicely to your business needs.

Project and business performance

ROLL provides performance metrics on individual projects to ensure each project is profitable. From there, we provide business metrics to business owners and managers which assist with understanding how the business is performing and how the next 6 months are shaping up. This allows for data-driven decision-making based on real-time information.

ROLL + Xero

With the Xero integration, you can create and send invoices directly out of ROLL. These then appear immediately in your Xero account—no need to switch to Xero when it comes time to invoice. Alternatively, you can start an invoice in ROLL and pick it up in Xero, finalise it and send it to the client.

All contact information is also synchronised between your ROLL and Xero accounts eliminating rekeying of client data.

Integration with Xero “Products and Services”, Xero GL Account and Xero “Tracking Codes” allows for streamlining of cost entering and enables the generation of quotes, and invoices quickly and easily.

Costs and Purchase Orders that have been entered into your Xero account can also be associated with projects in your ROLL account giving accurate visibility over project profitability and performance.

The combination of ROLL and Xero is extremely powerful. ROLL provides estimates of financial performance for the current month and forecasts revenue for the next 6 months. Xero looks at the previous months' actual revenue. Together you've got a powerful combination.

So easy!

We are a creative services agency that needed to transition to a new project management platform. After extensive research and trialling different apps we settled on Roll, here’s why: 1. Ease of use - Roll is far simpler and easier to pick up than many of its competitors. The features are extensive but you never feel overwhelmed by the capabilities. 2. Customer service - Taylor and the team have been so helpful in walking through the platform, offering tips, tricks and solutions to every problem. They are quick to respond on chat, email or even video call. 3. Customisation - not only can you adapt the platform to the specific needs of your business via a multitude of custom fields and functions but the Roll team is happy to actually modify the very bones of the software to meet your needs. We used another platform for several years so our team was used to relying on certain functions - Roll has been able to continuously make changes and improvements to the platform, responding to all our feature requests. We are LOVING Roll and would recommend them to anyone needing awesome project management software.

Amazing customer service

Our small business recently had to change project management software which was a daunting prospect. However, Roll provided incredible customer service offering us multiple face to face online meetings to go through how their software might work for our company, answering our many questions and extending our free trial while we were deciding if it was the right fit for us. While no system is perfect, Roll's flexibility and customisation means that so far - a few months in - it is working to suit our needs. Additionally, knowing the person at the other end of the email means a lot!

Great for creatives

I run a small creative studio, specialising in branding and websites, and Roll is brilliant. It enables me to organise myself, staff and contractors quickly and easily and everyone finds it intuitive and simple to use. The ability to take a project from the initial client contact, all the way through to invoicing and syncing with Xero is a huge time-saver for my business, leaving me free to focus on creating the best design solutions for my clients. We've been using it for at least 5 years and have found the support service (on the odd occassion we've need it) to be extremely prompt and thorough. I really couldn't run this business without it.
