Easy to Use and Effective Credit Management Tool

For any business that extends credit to customers manual debtor management can be a cumbersome process. We have integrated Xero with Pencil and are already seeing the effects of tighter debtor management, better cash flow and our BDMs concentrating on what they do best - sales not debt collecting. Tim has also been generous in extending his time to us to get the most out of the platform. We could not recommend this product more and we are confident we will see more benefits as our business grows.

Chasing customers for payment was never something I enjoyed doing. Pencil not only automates this process, It handles credit applications, payments and has the ability to charge customers if they fail to make timely payments, which gives peace of mind. The Pencil team is great, they're always quick to provide assistance when needed.

I first heard about Pencil via a recommendation from a business who is a collaborative partner with Pencil. Their role is to work with businesses like CMI Accessories and offer integrated solutions to improve business efficiency and compliance practices. The decision around progressing with the Pencil platform was essentially two fold. Firstly, the internal business decision around further improving our internal processes for credit card payment…..specifically around storage of details and automated processing as well as introducing a more automated process for the onboarding of new customers and the re-onboarding of long term customers in an exercise to review credit limits and ensure the most up-to-date customer information was confirmed. Secondly, it was the approachable nature of the Pencil business and their willingness to assist CMI Accessories and act as a true B2B partner. At CMI Accessories, our customer on-boarding process was very manual and relied on out-dated practices…....the completion of a paper form. Ultimately, it was time to improve efficiency in dealing with our customers and simply make it easier for our customers to deal with us. At CMI Accessories, we use Pencil for: • Customer on-boarding and the application process • Credit checks • Storage of credit card details for automatic processing for customers trading with CMI Accessories on a ‘pay as you go’ basis • Payment gateway on our B2B website (I guess I can only say this in a month or two once it is completed) The two main factors that make Pencil a great solution for CMI Accessories are: 1. The business relationship between CMI Accessories and Pencil. a. In a relatively short period of time we have formed a positive working relationship centred around working collaboratively and delivering on positive business outcomes that work for both parties 2. The overall solution itself a. We now have a solution in place that addresses our requirements for today as well as what is required for future business growth Both Tim and Greg have been great to work with and I highly recommend their product and service.

Credit Apps steamlined

Tim and Greg have been brilliant in heping us streamline our credit apllications and payment systems. Pencil Pay has allowed us to utilise a system where all our information and data is kept in one place, easily accessible and even easier to use. We love the fact Pencil Pay can take some of our ideas specific to our business and add these functions to an already seemless system. Not many payment companies are able to do this.

Automation on steroids

We onboard about 5-8 customers per week. The time and effort to do this using a paper credit application was slowing my business down. We signed up for a free trial on Pencil after seeing it in the app marketplace and got a call pretty much straight away setting up some training. This was really well done and helped me bring the system to life. Now we get each customer signed up in a couple of minutes and collect and store bank details. Running a specialty labor hire business, it's been really valuable to secure payment after we send staff in to work.

Thank you guys! I started using Pencil to make sure we had an onboarding portal for new clients as we had to move away from face to face sign ups due to Caronavirus.The sign up and implementation into my business was very quick and easy and the team were really on the ball and prompt offering support. We have noticed a huge uptake in automated billing and payments which has significantly improved our cashflow and made life really easy. (Especially when all face to face contact is gone) I have recently started recommending and using Pencil for my wholesale supply clients. It has made the bookkeeping and reconciliation significantly easier. Once again the guys were really fast to help and offer support and the receivables and payments functions have helped two of my clients in a really challenging time.
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
