Support is terrible

Our experience to date with Unleashed has not been that positive. You have to pay extra for the support which would be fine if they then supported you with your questions. Most times they just send you a training link and in the latest instance I have been waiting over a month for an answer to a problem in the system. An issue that is integral to the business being the COGS associated with a sale posting incorrectly. Beyond frustrated with this system

Decent software, missing some flexibility

Useful for control of BOM's, inventory and sales order management, however there some flexibility and openness lacking. It tends to be lots of little things like BOM versions, wildcard searches on SKU's or reporting adaptability, which causes productivity to slow as external systems are needed.

Big functionality, some work-arounds, well worth considering if you're manufacturing and using Xero

We’ve been working with Unleashed for 3 years, initially recommended by the company accountant but their implementation didn’t fit our specific and slightly unusual application and we knew our own efforts could be improved on, so we sought the assistance of OutServe to help and support. Positives: • Tracking of serial numbered components as they are purchased, stocked and then assembled into end product, with assembly log assigned to our manufacturers serial number. • General workflow for sales administration is good, flows easily from quotation to shipping and invoicing, with a frustrating but highly customisable document template editor to allow you to create professional documents for suppliers and customers. • General Xero link is ok for sales administration (passing through bills and invoices). It takes some time to get used to how and when Unleashed passes the data over to Xero; its not as we expected when we started, but manageable. • Without any experience of alternative cloud based systems, but with a good few years use of traditional manufacturing business software (MRP, ERP) I’m generally impressed how well the software pulls together all the business functions under one hood, from BoMs, component assembly into final product, live stock management from purchasing, sales and warehousing. • Unleashed team stepped up a gear last year to interact with their customer base, continually improve and implement new functionality. Negatives: • Rule number 1 for any new trainee . . don’t hit the bright big inviting green button called Complete until you’ve triple checked everything – you can’t undo transactions when that button is clicked. Why can’t you undo transactions . . . . and why make it a bright big green button? (a small red one with 2 warning screens would be ideal) • Poor work-around for pro-forma payment to suppliers when integrated with Xero - you have to receive it into stock (before you’ve actually ordered it) so that the bill is posted to Xero to be reconciled. • Very poor search function . . theres search box but it just searches sales order numbers or purchase order numbers . . . you can drill down the data with customisable reports but a generic search box that shows all references of a search phrase would make it much simpler, eg serial number, post code, part number, supplier. • We engaged with Unleashed so the accountant could see a snapshot of stock value in Xero. We’ve had to turn off all stock transfer data to Xero as its just too complex to manage and gain confidence in. Taking stock value form unleashed is simple enough, but don’t expect an easy job getting real-time stock value transfer into Xero without some deep diving into the system to gain confidence its providing sensible data to Xero. Other xero fnctionality is ok/manageable when you get used to it, but could be more intuitive. • Insights – KPI’s – very poor unless you purchase an add-on (Business Intelligence). Frustrating they make you pay extra, should be included.
