A Mess!

I was on the Xero Outbound Integration - it was easy and working as expected, but Xero discontinued that app and forced me to switch to this "Shopify by Xero" claiming it is better. This is an integration with Amaka - not made very clear by Shopify. It is cumbersome to set up, doesn't work with Xero Ignite plans as that plan is limited to 5 bills per month. Basically forces you to upgrade you XERO plan or use the paid Amaka plan so that you can access features to ensure the clearing account works correctly. Even Google AI told me to "ditch it immediately" because Amaka's "free" tier is a trap for Xero Ignite users! No good Xero.

Multi store support?

Can't use this app until it supports multiple storefronts integrated into one Xero company. We use faire and two shopify storefronts, one wholesale and one retail. I can't have an integration that kicks the existing store out!

Easier than I thought!

Pretty easy migration over to the new Shopify integration. The only points I would say are that: 1. It wasn't super clear that you need to log in to Amaka first. 2. That once the new Shopify App is installed you need to delete the old one, it's not automatic and 3. PayPal Payments are reconciled slightly differently, but Jacquelyn from the support desk was amazing. I really recommend contacting them if you're having any trouble. They were brilliant and helped straight away. Thank you!

Pleasantly surprised!

wasn't expecting much from a free integration and thought there'd be a catch! But other than a few sync issues when pulling through backdated items (sorted very quickly by support) I'm yet to find a fault. That said if I was to be picky it would be if I could pick up a second bank account for Paypal payments but we don't have that many not a major issue.

What the heck is Amaka?

I received an email to update my Shopify Integration - checked the email origin to make sure it wasn't a phishing attempt. Went through the intregration/update steps. All the branding/URLs didn't have any red flags until I completed the step and was redirected to Amaka.com for "next steps," Had a little freak out because none of the email messaging or app upgrade steps mentioned a partnership with Amaka for the upgraded app. And of course the AI support agent was useless. The only place Amaka is mentioned is at the bottom of the Shopify By Xero app page: https://apps.xero.com/!c-G!m/us/search/app/shopify#overview. Would have appreciated more transparency and more information about Amaka's role in the app in email communications from Xero. Leaving this 1-star review for Xero's communication about Amaka's role in this new/upgraded app they launched to replace the existing shopify app. The functionality of the app TBD.
