Projects is like a place to hold the quotes, tasks, and invoices for a 'project'. It won't convert a quote into actionable tasks, and those tasks don't push through to an invoice with anything other than the time. Even the project name is only supported in a quote, not the invoice. Plenty of potential in this program.

XeroProjects works well in terms of getting data in but there's serious issues with running Reports on your Projects. We raised issues months ago when we first migrated to Xero and there's been no action from Xero. We like using Projects and have found it useful to track staff time against a job and particular tasks. Where it could greatly be improved: * When opening an invoice or quote from projects, it would be great if it opened in a new tab as currently it doesn't so then I have to reopen Projects and find the project again * Tasks is linked to Products and Services which is also great and helps with consistency but when generating an invoice using tasks and expenses, it doesn't automatically put in the description of the product/service so for each line item in the invoice, I have to edit it. * It would also be super helpful if a quote is linked to the project then the option to covert selected line items to tasks.

Although quotes, invoices and bills can be done against a project, there still is not way of linking an purchase order against a project. Projects also do not have project addresses and the customer's (contact) address is used. Pity when you do various projects for a single customer with many project managers. Xero's Projects might be perfect for a small one man contracting business.

Would be ideal if you could tag a project off a xero timesheet particularly the Xero me app. The time capture in Projects is clunky at best and not ideal for self serve when there is non project time. Will need to find a different solution

Added projects to my package recently. Has lots of potential. Need to be able to assign quotes and expenses from xero to be worth it.
