Previously used a well known 3rd party app to do the same thing, however due to the api limits for 3rd party apps pulling invoices and payments would fail after a couple of attempts due to exceeding API limits - as this is an authorised app we do not have the same issues! It doesn't have quite as many tables available from xero like invoice change logs etc which would be useful but it was too much data for a third party app that had them available. Great if you want to report and manipulate data in excel and power BI as we found getting information out of xero to be one of Xero's biggest downside but this overcomes that issue

OdataLink have enable us to report on Xero data that is not easily accessible without their tool. They provide amazing support and knowledge to backup their tool. If you want to use Power BI or Power Query (Excel) to expose more of your data, this is the tool for you.

Am a confirmed Xero novice, and in under 24 hours have a working model pulling live data into our group consolidated reporting (rest of group uses other software. And the support is top notch when you do need a helping hand. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Odatalink is great for connecting Xero to Power BI. The support we received from Nic regarding the Custom Functions in Power Query was excellent.
