Creates Multi-Entity trust
I must say a well done to Mayday with their HQ feature which enables reconciliation between multi-entity Charts of Accounts.
We had an engagement with a new prospect who wanted to align their CoAs in order to better consolidate and manage their Management reporting whilst also serving as a framework for future entity structure.
Not only connecting in Balancer to review and highlight the inter-company balance discrepancies to fix, we also used HQ in order to manage the CoA review and fix which was possible to do from within Mayday itself rather than jumping into each individual Xero account - Game changer!
All of this meant when we created the Management Accounts and consolidation through Syft Analytics it was all so easy with the comment from the CEO 'Finally, i can see a full view of each business, department and as a group that i can trust'.
Trust was the key word used here as often Management accounts and consolidation for Multi-entity businesses are not aligned therefore on a shaky foundation to report on as any update, change or new code can have a ripple effect on the reporting structure - not now!

Mayday - where Xero meets the American Dream
I'm the Controller for an American coworking space group. We're a business that was born with big ambitions and dreams. We've grown organically and rapidly to 30 entities in our group with several more locations on the horizon.
I've used QBO plenty before, along with some of the larger ERPs. When it comes to a startup and ensuring you have the right accounting software, QBO is juvenile. It's fine when you're getting started and ramping, but for a company that is born with the intent to scale, you have to be on the lookout for a system that can scale with you- like Sage Intacct or NetSuite.
Our business made the decision to grow with Xero from day 1. While I love the quality of Xero's functionality and how well it integrates with other systems we use in our business, the lack of month end and intercompany functionality was a big issue for me when I joined. The double and triple posting to do things right was a huge time sink.
Then I discovered Mayday. The quality of automation across its Recharger, BRAG and Balancer products has had an incredible impact. And I love Mayday's HQ product, which has saved so much pain in administering our chart of accounts as a group. I also love the level of support and commitment from Mayday to create products that genuinely fix problems.
Mayday and Xero is such a potent combination for any finance team and business with a dream to grow big.

Mayday HQ is Game Changing
Firstly the recharger and balancer saved me days of work on many occasions dealing with historic issues.
But then came HQ with the Chart of Accounts functionality. With 15 entities in a group and 5-6 new ones every year, this functionality to align COA codes was genius

Handles multi-currency intercompany like a dream
There's nothing hard about Mayday. Simple to setup. Simple to use. Does what it says on the tin, really well. Looking forward to seeing what else they come up with

There's no substitute for Mayday
Last year, I joined a well-funded startup as Head of Finance. A key focus was to implement a best-in-class tech stack that would enable us to scale with Xero as we grew.
In looking at options for month-end automation I did a side by side comparison with Translucent (receipt bank founder). I researched forums / finance communities and found a lot of love for Mayday. The team clearly have a deep understanding of the problem, and the product is really easy to use.
Mayday has saved me a lot of time, not sure what I'd do without it now!

Mayday is a game changer
We have started using Mayday for our monthly recharge process, which we had always considered too complex to automate, and it has been a game changer for our month end processes. It is easy to set up and use, has reduced the potential for user error by automating the recharge process and is very flexible to allow for a variety of different recharge calculations. It has reduced the time requirement for preparation of monthly recharges from a full day to 1-2 hours! And the support team are fantastic - easy to contact, quick to respond and very helpful (and they are real people!).
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
