bookkeep.com + Xero

To have financial data flow into Xero, you will need to connect your ecommerce channels and accounting platform to Bookkeep. This will enable the flow of financial data from your source channel such as Shopify to flow through to Xero as a summarized journal entry.
Getting started
Getting set up with Bookkeep takes just a few minutes and some simple steps.
Connect Bookkeep to Xero
First, create an account at Bookkeep.com (https://app.bookkeep.com/signup). After creating an account, you will need to connect your accounting platform such as Xero. You will select “Connect to Xero.” This will redirect you to login to Xero to give permission to Bookkeep to connect with your Xero organization. Once you connect your Xero account to your Bookkeep account, you will see the organization you have authorized shown at bookkeep.com under your accounting platform connected.
Connect Your Ecommerce Channels
Additionally, in order to have financial data flow into Xero, you will need to connect your upstream ecommerce channels to Bookkeep. This will enable the flow of financial data from your source channel such as Shopify to flow through to Xero as a summarized journal entry.
Once you have connected your ecommerce channels to Bookkeep, you will see them listed as apps on Bookkeep.com. Each of these channels will need to be mapped to the right accounts within your accounting platform to ensure each financial data point hits the right account such as sales.
Map Your Financial Data
Next, click “Map” adjacent to the app you have connected. This will display a view of the journal entry templates available for this ecommerce channel. You will then complete the fields necessary for a particular journal entry template. This will involve mapping the incoming fields such as Gross Sales to the right account in your Xero organization. Once you have completed the mappings and turned on the journal entry templates, Bookkeep will begin syncing your source system such as Shopify to Xero on a daily basis with summarized journal entries.
