Best reporting software for Xero for SMEs

I have now used Calxa with two SMEs using Xero. I have used enterprise reporting systems from JDEdwards and SUN with larger and more complex corporations. Calxa, for its price, covers a lot of what those big systems do, but for the Xero environment. We had 13 Xero files and about 700 tracking categories in a complex hierarchy that we were able to manage using Calxa - for an absolutely reasonable price that NFPs can afford. Calxa treads that line between functionality, ease of use, and complexity - at just the right level for SMEs. And then as other users have attested to, their service is excellent. You get a real person, responding in real time to any urgent call. They take the time to do their best to address your need if the OOB features don't actually meet it. The team are constantly improving the product. Calxa will allow you to automate the production of set monthly management accounts including emailing them to any user. The budget process is simplified and you will be able to use Calxa reports for developing and presenting your budgets after slicing and dicing them in multiple ways. It actually allows you to set up cost centre hierarchies in Calxa using the Xero tracking categories which used natively in Xero, don't actually have that power. So for any reasonably sophisticared business using Xero, I think Calxa is indispensable even if just for this reason alone. Fantastic software! Fantastic team!

As a beginner

I am a relatively new user of Calxa. I had some professional help to get started but now that I am actually using Calxa, I am finding that whenever I get stuck and ask for support, I get pretty much immediate and excellent support.

Great Budgeting Tool

Using Calxa mostly to build up annual budget from projects/business units, and it's awesome for that. Normally this would take at least a week with many Excel sheets... bringing them together... uploading to Xero.... correcting mistakes - Gross. With Calxa it took 1 day. That in its self is worth the price of admission. Starting to use the reporting function which seems flexible The reporting Bundles will save time down the road I know!

Great Product & Even Better support

Having used various products I have found that Calxa can produce any of the reports that are required. There support is the best I have encountered in 25 years in the accounting industry.

Great software, great support

I found Calxa after various attempts to use other reporting software. It is really easy to setup, love the charts and forecasts and the editable bundles enable me to have bespoke reporting packs for clients which include pdfs from Xero, WorkflowMax and payroll as well as the automatic Calxa ones. Mick and the team went out of their way to help me get going - and it is so refreshing to phone a software provider and get to speak to a real person who knows what they are talking about!!

This is such great software. It has turned what used to be a really tedious process producing customised not-for-profit reports into a simple, quick process. The flexibility to report easily on lots of different budgets is brilliant for a charity with multiple income streams, and being able to see all that consolidated just by a simple click to change settings is way simpler than all the old spreadsheets I used to maintain and spend hours cross-referencing. And it's not just the software that is great - the support has also been brilliant. I've had several queries about how to get set up properly for our specific circumstances, and the responses are always prompt, helpful and clear. I would definitely recommend this product.
