Has saved us a lot of time

We love using Employment Hero. The integration between their rostering and payroll has saved us so much time. What used to take 2 people 3 days to complete a pay run now only takes 1 person 1 day and is mostly automated. Employment Hero have come a long way in the past few years and now they have a base in New Zealand their support and communication has improved immensely. I would recommend it (and have) to others.

DO NOT RECOMMEND

I have been doing payroll for approx 20yrs and have recently moved to a company that uses Employment Hero. It is the most complicated, confusing payroll system I have ever used. Constantly having to recalculate leave amounts as it doesn't seem to calculate them correctly. Trying to get any personal support from EH is almost impossible and can take days which isn't helpful if you need help on the day of your payroll. I would never recommend this system to anyone and would actively encourage them to look elsewhere.

Would not recommend

I have become accustomed with this product after it was sold to a client and they were locked into a 12-month contract which they cannot get out of so they are stuck with it for another 8 months. It's an Australian based company and trying to get hold of anyone to talk to personally is just hopeless. There is no customer service in NZ. You talk to an app or book a calendar appointment with someone. I asked for help with set up - as in please do it for me so I know its done properly, and I got referred to another website which is a guide and advised it was going to take 5-6 hours to set up. The interface to run a pay seems simple enough but I am concerned if this Oz based platform will be ok for NZ payroll. Recommendation.... steer clear

Not suitable to accurately account for complexities around New Zealand leave entitlements

We were sold a complete timekeeping and payroll solutions and spent weeks implementing the system only to learn subsequently that leave wasn't accruing correctly for our staff that didn't have a fixed work pattern, so be careful if you want to use this in a business where staff work different shifts each week.

Don't waste your time

Worst decision we have made. It takes an age to set up, the rostering functionalities are clunky, the app for staff to clock in/out doesn't work, and the customer service team takes days to get back to you to fix any problems. Absolute waste of money, save yourself time and money and look elsewhere.

KEYPAY ROCKS

Keypay has definitely provided a streamlined way to complete payroll, few glitches but certainly 5 stars :)
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
