I've been a Harvest user for over 10 years, I loved the integration with Xero and the project management worked really well fo me. But then out of the blue i get an email telling me that my monthly billing its increasing from $12USD to $116 per month and that was with their 85% discount so next year the renewal will be around $1500USD per month... this is for 1 user. Rumour has it they've been sold so whoever bought it must be running it to the ground.

WAY too many steps for freelancers and yet as a project manager I feel like it would also fall short. Didn't even get far enough to test the xero integration, just adding data on clients was so tedious not to mention the hours tracking is not TIME based, like 9am to 10am, its 1h. Just don't like that.

The Xero connector is too simplistic - only supporting a single account code and not marking invoices as paid. The InfoSpark Xero connector is awesome to allow for all of those limitations to be addressed so that it's all fully automated.

Sending invoices from harvest to xero is great. The downside is when you reconcile an invoice in xero it doesn’t automatically mark it as paid in harvest so you have to manually do this. I’m using finalsync.co.uk that takes care of that bit perfectly so I no longer have to manually mark harvest invoices as paid. It’s now automated. Why the xero integration doesn’t do this as standard is beyond me.

It might need a little love, some features could be upgraded, but we used it for 3-4 years and we really are satisfied!

Harvest has a lot of great functions and tools. Xero has a lot of great functions and tools. But the bottleneck of communicating between ALL of these functions and tools is suddenly bottlenecked by a minimal integration. I will say they do that well, but they are missing SO much more. What about creating an integration with approved expenses? What about creating an integration with approve subcontractor times?
