Good for sales, integration not great
EasyCars has a lot of functions which work really well on the car sales side of the business (which I don't do much with), and while the bookkeeping methods are set up differently to what I am used to, you do learn how to follow the method.
The integration with Xero leaves a bit to be desired though. Some items (like payments) transfer immediately and automatically to Xero. Other items (like Purchase Orders/expenses) will only move across to Xero on performing a manual sync. There doesn't seem to be a regular or timed sync to take care of unpaid bills. Also, it is very finnicky when it comes to contacts. Merging duplicated contacts in Xero will cause a sync error in EasyCars, even if you have updated the purchase order to correct the contact in EasyCars.
Some of the Government payments don't show up correctly, and the only way we have been able to ensure complete & reliable data is to enter some of those items (like rego renewals) as Purchase Orders, rather than via the Government Payments section as recommended.
EasyCars requires a higher level of bookkeeping knowledge than other apps and integrations. It is easy to make mistakes, and not as easy to know how to correct them. For example, EasyCars is very reliant on manual journals. A lot of these are automatically created at certain points in the sale process, but there are others (like stamp duty adjustments) that will need to be created manually. Knowing what to journal and when, as well as knowing how to check that the automated journals are complete and correct, may be confusing for inexperienced bookkeepers or staff members.
EasyCars does very well on the sale side, but it is my least favourite integrated app for the bookkeeping side. Hopefully they continue to improve it, and add further tutorials for the bookkeeping side, as the details there can be a bit thin.
Either way, we'll work around the bookkeeping issues because of the simplicity of the rest of the vehicle purchase and sale process.

The best administrative move we have made in the last few years was to upgrade to the new version of Easycars and its integration with Zero. It is so simple and our book keeper absolutely loves it. Well done Julie, Michael and team.

The entire system - with Easycars and Xero is incredible. It really makes life easy. Like anything new there is a time that must be put into learning and becoming familiar, but I can say in all certainty that it is well worth the effort. If only I had these two systems synced together years ago when a BAS would take me half a weekend of non-stop, tedious data entry and then analysis. This new system is brilliant and Easycars is to be commended for making their system integrate with Xero!

Hi I have been using Easycars for approx 13 years and work for various dealers using both Xero and MYOB.
I found in the beginning Xero was difficult as there was no support and emails i sent not replied etc. Fortunately the business changed accountants and he was so helpful with fine tuning it for me and showing me how to use it to its full potential. The staff from Easycars were fantastic as always to the point they could with the xero program.
I am used to it now and find it syncs wonderful with Easycars.

Great Easycar software options and save a lot of time. Thank you!
Although Xero reviews each app in the Xero App Store, we can’t give any guarantees. It’s up to you to assess the performance, quality and suitability of any app before going ahead.
